Sharon Hamre was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, when she was 20 years old. After a year of college and various jobs, she found her niche working in the editorial department of the Utah Geological Survey as a graphic designer. The survey opened her world to the beauty of the desert and mountains in Utah and throughout the western states. She finds great joy in being with people who care about the land and our planet. Hamre is now retired and living in the small town of Mesquite, Nevada. Her interests include travel, reading, music, photography, poetry and cooking.
