Ana and Mirna are from the community of Chuacruz in Sololá, Guatemala. They have strengthened their relationship as sisters by capturing the stories of their community. Ana aims to earn a degree in business administration and become a tour guide in order to share the richness of indigenous communities in her country with the rest of the world. Mirna hopes to earn a degree in accounting and become an anthropologist. Both have been involved with Unlocking Silent Histories since 2014, and have developed into esteemed leaders in their community. They are passionate about sharing their newfound knowledge with others, and know that one day they will be internationally recognized filmmakers.
Ana y Mirna son de la comunidad de Chuacruz en Sololá, Guatemala. Han fortalecido su relación como hermanas al captar y mostrar las historias de su comunidad. Ana tiene planes de obtener un título en administración de empresas y ser guía turística para compartir la riqueza de las comunidades indígenas de su país con el resto del mundo. Mirna espera obtener un título en contabilidad y ser antropóloga. Las dos forman parte del proyecto Unlocking Silent Histories (Dando voz a historias silentes) desde 2014 y se han vuelto lideresas estimadas en su comunidad. Les apasiona compartir sus nuevos conocimientos con otros y saben que algún día serán cineastas reconocidas a nivel internacional.
