G.R. Stahl has been writing about public land and conservation issues in the western United States for 25 years and has worked as a journalist, editor, author, copywriter and public relations professional. He is author of two books: Deception at the Diamond D Ranch, a Rocky Mountain mystery about a retired smoke jumper who returns to the wilderness to look for a missing young man; and Paddling Idaho, a guidebook about kayaking, rafting, canoeing and SUPing the rivers and lakes of Idaho. In 2005 Stahl was selected for the Ted Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he concentrated his studies in CU’s School of Law.
