Jack Burtt retired in 2004 to devote his time to travel after working for more than 30 years as a corporate accountant. Now, he travels almost six months of the year. About half of his travel is in the capacity of a “volunteer” on various projects with the Earthwatch Institute, assisting various scientists with their work with wildlife. The rest of the travel is for the sheer joy of visiting new and remote locales, some with organized groups, some on his own. Wherever he goes, he always takes pictures (sometimes far too many) in an attempt to capture a small piece of the experience to relive later.
