Jami is a graduate student completing her thesis for a master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology at Western Washington University. Her thesis focuses on human to human conflicts surrounding wolves in Idaho. Born and raised in Fresno, California, the first 18 years of her life gave her values for a grounded understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in California. During this time she gained fluency in Spanish while living abroad for one year in Chile and Spain. After completing her degree, she moved to Idaho for eight years, nurturing her reverence for the mountains and wilderness and working as a wilderness counselor/guide. It has been her dog Trooper who has opened her eyes to the remarkable intelligence of animals.
