Joe Gray is a field naturalist and eco-activist who lives in the catchment of the River Colne on the island known as Great Britain. He spends much of his spare time during the northern hemisphere’s spring, summer and autumn wandering the surviving scraps of wild nature and non-intensive land usage within the industrialized landscape that surrounds his home, documenting where biodiversity clings on.
Joe has an MSc in Forestry and an MA in Zoology, and he is a knowledge advisor on ecological ethics for the United Nations’ Harmony with Nature programme and a founding editor of The Ecological Citizen. He is chair of GENIE (the Global Ecocentric Network for Implementing Ecodemocracy) and his personal website can be found at deepgreen.earth.
