As a PhD candidate studying planetary health governance at Simon Fraser University, Kira is actively pursuing her deep interest in complex, interconnected challenges related to health and global-scale environmental challenges such as biodiversity loss and climate change. Her formal education also includes a master's degree in conservation biology from the University of Kent and a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder. Kira is also interested in ethics — particularly interspecies justice — as well as photography and writing. In her free time, she loves walking with her dog Norman, practicing and performing circus arts, and spending time in nature.
