Merri is an undergraduate at Ohio University studying Public Relations Journalism. She is the Street Team Leader at the Athens News and writes for Ohio University Alumni Association and The Athens Foundation. Merri is from West Virginia, and grew up in rural southeastern Ohio. She was raised in the foothills of Appalachia and has been immersed in the farming culture of the region thanks to her grandparents. Her family roots and constant exposure to the outdoors has led her to fall in love with everything that involves animals and nature. After graduation Merri hopes to pursue a job writing in the environmental and nature field. Her interests include reading, hiking, camping and of course, writing.
