Nejma Belarbi is an ethnobotanist and master herbalist committed to researching and promoting humanity's connections to the environment. She began studying with plants to better learn their medicine concurrently with sociology to attempt to better understand the foundation of human behavior toward nature. These two fields of study blended together in obtaining an MSc in ethnobotany from the University of Kent, UK. Through the medium of plant medicine, her research and work explores the connections between our relationship to the environment and social justice. Nejma is an advocate and supporter of initiatives that serve to provide access to ecological knowledge diffusion and biocultural diversity conservation. Nejma lives between Morocco and Quw'utsun (Cowichan) Valley.
