Paula Pebsworth is a primatologist with a PhD from Kyoto University’s Primate Research Institute. Her doctoral research focused on geophagy, the deliberate consumption of soil, in chacma baboons and her areas of interest are self-medicative behavior and resolution of human-primate conflict. In addition to working with baboons in South Africa, she has studied chimpanzees in Uganda, rhesus macaques in India, and golden bamboo lemurs in Madagascar. She is committed to conservation, education and living sustainably. She resides in Texas with her husband and two children.
