Robin grew up in Scotland, where his fascination with amphibians began as a child: He often collected newts because they seemed exotic to him and more amenable to observation than other animals. He later translated that interest into advanced degrees in amphibian ecology. Robin is a member of the International League of Conservation Photographers and his photography has won numerous awards. On his website, he states, "Photographs, with their power to inspire or to shock in an instant, are an incredibly powerful tool in the fight to protect our earth." Robin now wields this tool through his work as Amphibian Conservation Officer for Conservation International in Washington, DC, where his photographs are used to engage donors and stakeholders in the organization's mission.
