Sandra Lumpkin has been involved with therapy dogs for over twenty years. She has been a trainer and therapy dog team evaluator for Pet Partners (a national program) and for National Capital Therapy Dogs. NCTD serves northern Virginia, D.C., Maryland and Delaware. Sandra launched a therapy dog program at a hospital, hospice and retirement home in Baltimore, Maryland. She is currently volunteering with her fifth therapy dog, a Chihuahua named Nugget.
